Grace Evelyn Greer Argo

GRACE EVELYN GREER ARGO, 90, native of Victoria, Texas and resident of Houston Texas for the past 10 years, passed away on July 2, 2005 after a short illness. Her daughters, Edith Smith and her husband Vincent E. Smith, Jr. of Houston, and Nancy Serrill of Alvin, and a son, Austin Greer, survive her. Her sister, Frances Smith of Sugar Land, and two nieces Cherie Doerschug and her husband Dave and Shelley Thomson, and a granddaughter Adrienne Mortimer and a grandson John Serrill also survive her. Step-grandsons Vincent Smith II and his wife Carine, and Kevin Smith and step-great granddaughters Elizabeth and Emily Smith also survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Argo, parents Edith Borden Greer and Walter Vernon Greer of Victoria, and sister Dr. Louise Thomson Fomon. The family expresses their deep appreciation to her caregivers Eva Morgan and Elaine Welch. She and her mother operated the Victoria Paint and Wallpaper Company for many years after her father's death. Her greatest interest was music and for many years she taught piano. She will be cremated and the family will hold a private service. Donations may be made to the Houston Humane Society, PO Box 450528, Houston 77245-2528, to honor her deep love of animals.
