John and Marilyn Lee
December 6, 2022
We knew Grace and Gene from back home in Trinidad but when they emigrated we lost contact.
We arrived in San Francisco in 1970.
Imagine surprise and joy when we saw them both in front of Sears on Masonic Ave one day in 1970.
We were overwhelmed with gratitude when we were invited to overnight on Christmas Eve at their home, with two of our kids who were just a bit younger than theirs. They were the only family from Trinidad that we knew in San Francisco and were extremely happy that we could enjoy each other's company as we shared many happy times together. Whenever Grace sampled a new dish at a restaurant, her taste buds would recognize each ingredient and so she would cook the same dish at home for the enjoyment of her family.
Grace will be remembered for her generosity and outspokenness, her quick wit and hearty laughter.
Condolences to all family members for their pain and sadness as they watched their loved one suffer. May her soul rest in peace.
John and Marilyn on behalf of our family

I'm so sorry to hear of Auntie Grace's passing. I remember her sense of humor, the way her shoulders shrugged up and down with her infectious laugh. Blessings for the whole family! Lesli (daughter of friends John and Marilyn Lee)
