Grady Sanford

Dear Grady, you were that cool older teenager who lived down from my grandparents on Phelps Grove Park. As a little girl, I was awestruck by your kindness to me and my siblings. You finished school and moved away but we stayed and developed a good relationship with your parents. You all are forever in our hearts.

I was truly sorry to hear this news. The mystery of God's actions as today I see a friend request on facebook which I have never logged onto and see Carol Sanford amoung 7 friend requests, and as I try to find out who this was see Grady's passing. Death is a journey only difficult for the living and while its been almost forever defined as high school/college I am sorry for the loss of a good person, someone trying to make a difference, and of a loved one, friend and companion. May your faith, memories, and the dream of a future eternal togetherness help you this difficult time. Wayne Bowman MD

I hadn't visited with Grady since 2002. It feels like it was yesterday. I am so sorry for your loss.

Grady and Carol were the best friends ever. Such a hole in the world without Grady and his quick wit and infectious laugh. Thoughts and prayers with Carol and family.

All my love and deepest sympathy to the Sanfords in this time of loss. Life takes us in many directions and I am saddened that my path diverged from Grady's so many years ago; his obit describes an interesting and profound person consistent with the cousin I knew. Carol and Grady are two of the most giving, kind, and generous people I have met. It's no small wonder that they were drawn to one another to combine that all-time powerful force: Love. My heart & thoughts go out to you, Carol and to Grady's entire family during this time.

Lee and I were so sorry to hear of Grady's death. Cancer is such a nasty disease. However, how great it is that he lived such a full, productive, giving, adventuresome life. Our love and caring go out to you, Carol.

I am very sorry for your loss. Grady was a wonderful man. I was taken aback when you both showed up unexpectedly to my Grandfather's funeral, but after reading Grady's eulogy, I now realize that being kind to others was part of his inmost being. Our prayers are with you.

Grady and Carol have been wonderful friends. Our paths have diverged but Carol E. has kept us updated. We are so sorry for the loss of Grady.

Dear Carol,
Steve and I offer sincere condolences. I got reacquainted with Grady, briefly, while he was doing business with City of Lebanon. It was wonderful to laugh with an old friend from Parkview. You and yours are in our prayers.

I'm so sorry to learn of Grady's death. I haven't seen him in a number of years. I babysat for he and his siblings and Grady was acolyte at my wedding. My prayers are with you all.

I worked with Grady at Merrill Lynch. He treated everyone with respect and dignity. A very humble man. His quick wit and intelligence kept me on my toes. He not only touched my life but my son's as well. My heart breaks for Carol and his family. Heaven got another angel.

Grady was truly a wonderful man and I enjoyed getting to know him and serving with him at Grace and Holy Trinity. He will be greatly missed, but our loss will surely be heaven's gain. To Carol and family: you have endured difficult times during these past few months and I cannot know the heartache you are feeling at your loss. The thoughts and prayers of many, many people continue with you now. You have my deepest sympathy. May God grant you strength at this time. This breaks my heart. I knew Grady and Carol from the time we all were in kindergarden. We were in the same junior high and high school too. Grady's parents and my parents (Betty and Doc Seabough) were good friends. I remember spending time at their home in Phelps Grove Park. I had lost touch and had no idea that Grady and Carol had moved here to Kansas City. My deepest condolences to Carol, his family and to Grady's mother Helen Sanford who was so sweet and kind following the death of my own father when I was a kid.

I was blessed with seeing Grady on rare occasions in last few years, but what a blessing indeed when I would run into him & he would take time to always ask about my life and share that sweet charm he never lost.
