Deepest condolences on the loss of your father, grandfather and great grandfather.
I will always remember Uncle Grant as a talented, intelligent uncle and as a child he always had a science or life lesson for me.I was forever inspired by his precise artistic talent and discipline.Even when I last visited with him in August I was amazed by his projects and his passion for knowledge, music and charities. He spoke often of Aunt Jean and how much he missed her so we can take solace in knowing that he is with her now. So sorry for your loss I know there will be a large hole in your lives. Best wishes and sympathy.

It is with great sadness I learned of the passing away of your father. Mr. Stanford was a very kind and generous man. He helped build a classroom for destitute children in Ethiopia in memory of your late mother. On behalf of the poor children in Ethiopia and my own behalf I send our heartfelt Condolences.

I am sorry to hear about Grant. He was a wonderful man who cared very much for Jean and his family. I met him while working at the manor that he and Jean once lived

Grant, I remember when we first met in 1968 on a trip to the Crowsnest Pass. Over the years there were many more throughout Western Canada. From that beginning as a colleague you became a mentor and a very good friend.Your boundless knowledge, concern for others, dry wit and especially your guidance will always be remembered, along with the hospitality of Jean and yourself. Say hello to her. You were an outstanding person and will be missed.

We were deeply saddened to hear the news, and our hearts go out to the family in this time of sorrow. Although many of us at Canadian Feed The Children never met Mr. Devonshire or spoke to him in person, his generosity and his love story with his beloved wife Jean were well known amongst all of us.
With thoughts of peace and courage,

I was so sad to hear about the passing of Grant. I was lucky enough to get to know him though many telephone conversations. Grant made the lives of many children better and each gift was made in memory of his wife. He was a wonderful man, and I am very sorry I never had the chance to meet him in person. I know I will miss our conversations and I will miss his kindness. The world could use more people like Grant. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. I am truly sorry for the loss of such a wonderful person.

Thank you Granddad for everything that you did for me, thank you for coming to my soccer games, thank you for introducing me to golf, thank you for letting me work for you in the summer in your garden. Thank you for the trip to Hawaii, picnics in Fish Creek, and all the great camping memories. But most of all thank you for being a great grandfather and a great friend. Once I moved away from Calgary I only then truly appreciated what a talented and great man you were. I wish I could have spent more time with you and granny in your final years. Thank you for everything that you did for us and everything you taught me. I will miss our phone conversations greatly. Thank you for taking the best care of granny when she was sick. Say Hi to Granny for me. You will be missed, but you are in a better place now. All my love, Scott.

I always enjoyed talking to Grant when he came in to get his hair cut. He was a wonderful gentleman and Jean was a wonderful lady. I often wondered how he was keeping. Now he can be with Jean. He missed her very much and now they can be together again. Debbie from Scruples Hair Design
