I would like to express my deep sorrow to Grant's sisters Karen and Gladie who I know and love from Calgary, his sons Jason and Ryan, his daughter Arora and his loving girlfriend Elke.
I had the pleasure of working with Grant in the early 1990s, assessing Albertians for academic upgrading, His professionalism along with a sincere care for our clients made me proud to be an Alberta Government employee.
As well as the pleasure of working with Grant, I had the great fortune to be considered his friend. I will never stop missing or loving him.
When I told my Granddaughter of losing Grant due to a heart attact she said, " well you know Grandma, how big his heart was".

I was very surprised to hear of Grant's passing. We worked together for many years on various committees through out the apprenticeship programs. He was a positive contributor for the well being of apprenticeship. My heartfelt sympathy to all concerned.

The news of Grant’s passing only saddened our family that much more than one can understand, after only losing our Mother Denise Hansen one week earlier. I remember first meeting Grant as a teenager and will forever remember how good he was to my Mom, myself and my two boys. Grant and my Mother started working together when we relocated to Calgary in 1989. Grant had been a true friend to my Mother for the last 21 years, and shared a very loving and compassionate time with my Mother at the end of her life. I had just spoken to Grant that week as he was checking in to see how we were holding up and it was his usually how yah doing "kiddo", I’ll never forget that term he used for me whenever we spoke. Grant always made sure he saved up his Canadian Tire money and shared it with my boys. Grant was a gentle and kind man and I am a better person for having known him.
My loving thoughts are extended to the family at this time of sorrow. Rest assures that my mom and your dad are once again life long friends that have started on a new journey.
Love Lesley, Taylor & Aidan Hansen

I worked with Grant at AIT and, although I wasn't there too long, he made a lasting impression. He always had a smile and a positive word to offer. It was my pleasure to have known him. Peace to your family and know that he will be remembered fondly.

I worked with Grant at AIT for 7 years. When I was having a bad day Grant always reminded me not to sweat the small stuff. His sense of humor and kindness was always top notch. I was shocked to hear of your loss. He will be missed by many.

The news of Grants passing was both a shock and saddening news. Grant was a great friend and colleague as well as a valued mentor to many of the new apprenticeship consultants in the office, including myself. His hearty laugh, big smile and mischievous attitude will be sorely missed. My heart felt sympathy goes out to Grant's family and friends.

I was very shocked and saddened especially after the loss of my mother (Denise Hansen)a week previous. Mom was a dear friend and co-worker with Grant for years. My family new Grant through my mom and always seemed to run in with him when ever we were in Calgary. I'll always remember the stuffed bear Grant had given our eldest son when he was 2 while we were visiting Calgary for Mothers day in 1995. Brandon now 17 still has that stuffed bear. To the Family may you find God's Peace through this and know that your Dad was a very respected man. Take Care and God Bless
