Dear Mary, I have not met you for years so it has been nice to be in contact again. It was only a short while ago, you sent me a newspaper clipping about your son Grant, so it was such a shock to hear of the sad news of his sudden death. My deepest sympathy to you & your family & although he will be missed I am sure he will not be forgotten. Love from Betty

I knew Grant from elementary school on through to high school.
We spent time as friends in the summer after graduation taking trips out to K country on days off, and he and I worked together for a brief time in 1982.
I'll always remember Grant as a great friend, and one whose wit and humour were hard to match.
Our thoughts are with you.

Grant and I started Grade 1 together and stayed in the same school until Grade 12 graduation. We played together on numerous sport teams as well as participated side by side in many other activities.
Grant was hard working, very intelligent and a lot of fun to be with.
I will really miss Grant and my deepest condolences go out to his family.
To me Grant will always be Mr. Spock.

Dear Carey, Jeremy and Benjamin,
We were so devastated, and so very sorry to hear of the sudden passing of your wonderful husband and father, Grant. He was such an awesome person. He was so friendly and had a very unique sense of humor, and the biggest smile. The "Beaver Do's" will never be the same. He was the life of the party! It was Grant and you on the dance floor...and all the ladies who loved to dance. He was so much fun - and always so happy. Grant will be sorely missed by all who had the great privilege of knowing him. I'm sure all of you will have many beautiful memories of him. Please pass on our condolences to his family. We will be thinking of you all, and praying for you in the difficult days ahead. Please take extra good care of each other.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to Grant's young family. Having grown up with Grant from Elementary to High School, spending many many days at his parents house, the news of Grant's passing has struck deep. Mary, Howard, Mark and Virginia - I am so sorry to hear of your loss, as I can still sense the fun and humour that resonated from your home - even after 35 years. Knowing Grant, even at that young age, made those people around him better individuals for all the values, intelligence, and humour he imparted.

It was spring skiing on the Fernie mountain - the guys all dressed up as appliances they even brought an old wringer washer to make margerita's at the base of the ski hill. It was a day movie's are made about with the sun shining through the mountains. To the entire Leggett family may the sun shine on you to guide your way and the mountains give you strength in this trying time. We all loved him!
