Gregory John Hampel, 36, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born April 20, 1970 to C. Michael and Delores Schroeder Hampel in Dayton, OH. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church, and was President of Hymark, LTD. He enjoyed spending time with his children, wake boarding, snow skiing, playing video games, fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Tonya Lyddane Hampel; his son, Michael Hampel; his daughter, Katie Hampel, both at home; his parents, C. Michael and Delores Hampel of Marion, OH; his brother, Grant Hampel and his wife, Karen, and a nephew, August of Columbus, OH; father and mother-in-law, Joe and Carolyn Crickett Lyddane of Owensboro; brothers-in-law, Jimmy and his wife, Lynette, a nephew, Alex and a niece, Jessica, Lyddane of Owensboro; Jason and his wife, Paula, a niece, Zoe, and a nephew, Nathan Lyddane of Georgetown, KY.
Services will be 12:00 PM Friday, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with entombment at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home with prayers at 5:00 PM. Friends may call after 10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Passionist Nuns Monastery, 8564 Crisp Road, Whitesville, KY 42378.
