I know it was you that was looking out for me when my incident occurred.... There isn't anything that can convince me otherwise. My second day home from ICU, I noticed a couple of Cardinal birds in my yard....and I continue to notice them in my yard for over a week after that. There's no doubt in my mind that one of those Cardinals was you.
I love you Grandpa, and thank you for STILL watching out for me.

It has taken me all this time just to begin to believe you're really gone. You were Superman... There was NOTHING, known to man or not, that could put you down for the count. I never really fully accepted your diagnosis, it just wasn't something that was possible.
People say that you expect to lose your grandparents throughout your lifetime, but Ive found that to be absolutely false. I never expected to lose you, and nothing could have ever prepared me for the gaping hole left in my heart.
I love you Grandpa... And I miss you more than anyone could ever imagine...
