Horse Shoe - Gregory R. Lemke, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Hendersonville, North Carolina. He was born September 5, 1941, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to Stanley and Helen (Murphy) Lemke.

Greg attended Ramsey High School in Roseville, Minnesota, and enlisted in the US Marine Corps before his 18th birthday. He was an E-4 Corporal and served in Vietnam.

Greg began his lifelong career selling real estate in North Oaks, Minnesota. In 1986, he became a licensed GC in North Carolina and began building homes. A few years later, he joined Beverly-Hanks / Allen Tate and retired in December 2024.

Greg met the love of his life, Sandra "Sandi," in Naples, FL. They were married in 1986 and spent 40 years creating their family's cherished "compound" in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Greg will be greatly missed by his wife Sandra (Jones) Lemke, their daughter Elizabeth "Libby" (Jason) Hutton, siblings Jane Lemke, Mary Louise (Donald) Comins, Paula (Joseph) Sallay, Mark (Jeanne) Lemke, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, September 6, at Horse Shoe Community Church, 3 Banner Farm Road in Mills River, NC, with a visitation at 12pm, service at 1pm, and reception immediately following in the fellowship hall.

Arrangements were made by Mountain View Cremation & Funeral Care and there will be an online guestbook here: https://www.mtnviewcremation.com/obituaries. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Greg's honor to the Blue Ridge Humane Society, Wounded Warrior Project, or another charity close to your heart.
