Dear Marybeth, Peter, Jack, Peggy and Bridget,

I just found out today that Greg has passed and I am so sorry for the pain you all must feel. I feel so honored to have known him and have had him as a friend. I was so happy to reconnect with him and Marybeth down in Breezy Point after our college days. He had such a big heart and always made time for others.
He loved his family so much and was so proud of you all- I am sending you lots of love and prayers during this very difficult time. Please know that you are loved and cared about so much, I am so sorry for this profound loss, he is someone I will never forget.
God Bless, love, Ann Marie Campbell

I remember your wedding like it was yesterday. You and Greg shared a beautiful love story. The proof is in his legacy and your 4 beautiful children. He's gone way too soon, you should have shared another 22 years together. Love lasts forever, he'll always be with you. Holding you all in my heart. xo,

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

Dear Mary Beth-
We are shocked and saddened to learn of Greg's passing. Joan just caught us up on what you've been going through. It's not right that gentle and good people as yourselves should shoulder such burdens.
We'll see you Wednesday.
With love,
Bill and Diane Farnum

Dear Mary Beth,
I wanted to express my condolences to you, the children and the Smith family. While this is a tremendous loss, I can't help but feel how blessed we all have been and what wonderful honor we have had in knowing one of best husband, father, brother and friend. I also know that no man could be as loved as Greg without an equally strong, wonderful and loving wife. I recently heard this quote and I think it describes the essence of Greg:
“Other than family, Greg had two relationships in his life. The first relationship, he was your friend. The second, he has not met you yet.”
God bless you all.

A very dear friend once shared this with me and now his words are back to him....
"A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter;
he who finds one finds a treasure.
A faithful friend is beyond price,
No sum can balance his worth." Ecclesiasticus 6:14-15

Greg, you touched the lives of so many people with compassion, love and humor and left such an impression that can never be measured. I am blessed to have you as a friend and will forever be grateful for the time that you shared with us. Rest in peace, dear friend.
