This is Phil Budenbender, I was one of Greg´s students at Craig AFB. My nickname was Buda and Greg and Jayne had me over for dinner quite a few times. He was truly a great instructor and friend and a something he would always say when flying is, " is fun Buda, if it ain´t fun anymore it´s time to quit" I´ve never forgotten that and pass it on to all my flight students!
If you can pass it on to Jayne and have text me at 817-694-7220 or email at [email protected]
God Bless

Colleague, Mentor, Advisor, Boss, Fellow Professor...Friend. Greg was all these things to me.

I will always remember our teaching expeditions to Denmark, Dubai, and India, to name a few. When I grew very sick after a trip; Greg was my boss- and his compassion, sympathy and respect won´t ever be forgotten.

Greg was always my favorite boss. He was brilliant, articulate, and would spend however many hours it took, to beat something into my small brain; so I could comprehend; and explain it to a class. He taught me how to invest, manage for retirement; basically taught me life lessons, in various cultures.

What I´ll remember, and miss most was Greg´s amazing sense of humor. Greg would tell me he was George Burns, but Susan was Gracie Allen.

I was afforded the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Susan at my first Government job, 35 years ago.

May God bless Susan and Greg; and hold each in the palm of his hand- I loved and won´t ever forget either of these two amazing people.

Greg was a great coworker and friend to many during his years at Defense Institute of Security Assistance Management (DISAM) as it migrated and changed its name four different times before becoming Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU). During the years that I worked with him, he was the Director of Research and led numerous efforts in publications of the DISAM Journal and others media for our faculty, previous students and members of the workforce community. In addition to our friendship, I'll remember him for the constant support of our people -- to include the maintaining of the agreement that the School had with the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy (Tufts University) that ultimately provided over 100 of our workforce members a Graduate Studies Degree in International Relations, in addition to the many classes he taught within the schoolhouse itself. A terrific instructor and even better friend and colleague! The attached picture was taken on the front steps of the school during the summer of 2002 as we had just moved from one location to another at Wright-Patterson AFB. I know that I speak for all associated with the school who knew Greg (as well as the many who either knew or worked previously with Susan) that they both will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Greg and I flew as an integrated crew in the FB-111A aircraft for about three years at Pease AFB, New Hampshire. We were members of the 393rd Bomb Squadron, 509th Bomb Wing, Strategic Air Command. Greg was a highly skilled pilot, amazing intellect and blessed with a wonderful personality. He was a great teacher, mentor and most of all - a good friend. I owe him a lot.

Jerod, Ruth, Will, and Jonah, my condolences to you, and the rest of the family on Greg´s passing. Difficult to lose the family patriarch - and sounds like he was a lovely and likely storied guy.
