VOLK _ Gregory 1954 - 2004 Foothills Fasteners regrets to announce the passing of one of their own, Gregory Volk. Greg was born August 20, 1954 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He passed away peacefully at home in Calgary on April 29, 2004 at the age of 49. He is sadly missed by his sons, Jordan and Brandon of Aldergrove, B.C.; his parents Tony and Lucille Volk of Kamloops; his brothers, Rodney, Brian (Monique), and Brad (Tina), all of Calgary, his brother Lindsay of Kamloops; and two sisters, Pat (Brian) Shantz of Salmon Arm and Barbara of Burnaby; along with many nieces and nephews. Greg spent many years of his life in Kamloops where he was involved with the Kinsmen Club and enjoyed league bowling and golf. He was a longtime member of the Kamloops Blazers Booster Club and watching hockey was his passion. He loved to spend summers at Shuswap Lake when his boys were growing up. Greg later moved to Vancouver so he could be closer to his sons and then his job gave him the opportunity to move to Calgary where he enjoyed time with three of his brothers and their families. He excelled at his sales job and won the trust and friendship of many a customer. We will all miss you Greg and we will hang on to the memories of your smiling face, your wonderful sense of humor and endless jokes. You will be in our hearts forever. Special thanks to the many doctors and nurses at the Rockyview ICU/CCU Unit for taking such good care of Greg. A Memorial Service in Greg's honor will be held on Saturday, May 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Kamloops, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, Alberta T2G 3Y6.
