Greg Walls, of Cedar Creek, Texas, passed away on December 12, 2022 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The sword of evil took his body but our Lord has his soul.
Greg was born in Houston, Texas to Patricia Muller and Paul Walls on April 23, 1981. He went to school in Austin, Texas until entering high school in Bastrop, Texas.
He was survived by his two children Kelsey Goerlitz and Logan Goerlitz, his fiancé Stephanie Davis, his parents and his beloved dog Holly. Greg was an only child but he had forged love into brothers and sisters. He had other mothers and other children who did not carry his blood or his name but they carried his love and he carried theirs. His family was extensive. He gathered them from all across the country and kept them in his life as he went through his journey. The strength in his heart reached out, establishing roots in the lives and homes of many across the country. From Arizona to Ocracoke Island, from Virginia to Texas he created family. He believed in community, belonging and brotherhood.
He was quick witted, mischievous, clever and resourceful. He never knew a stranger, always quick with a story and a laugh but most importantly he saw peoples hearts and they saw his. We remember him as loving and will always have a place in our hearts for him.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30,2022 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. There will not be a gravesite service following the funeral. Greg wished to be cremated and brought to Ocracoke Island where his eyes were opened to the goodness of people and his heart was readied for all it was to receive as he started his life’s journey.
My long time next door neighbor and good friend. Words can not express how You will truly be missed. It doesn´t seem real that you are gone but the person you were will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace brother.
