Grover Cleveland Cochran Jr.

Grover Cleveland Cochran, age 92, passed away of natural causes on December 2, 2011 with his wife by his side and family close by. Grover was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on April 19, 1919. He was the older of two sons born to Grover C Cochran and Hazel Lewis Cochran. He was raised on a cattle ranch in Montana. He married Alyce Ruth Boyce on August 31, 1941 in Charlo, Montana. Their marriage was solemnized in the Cardston Alberta Temple on March 1, 1945. Grover served in the Border Patrol (US Immigration Service) for 30 years and enjoyed several other occupations after his retirement in 1970. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many positions over the years. He and Alyce served two missions: a stake mission in Yuma AZ and a full-time mission at the Washington DC Temple Visitor's Center. Alyce passed away on July 13, 2000. Grover married Adele Moulton Provost on December 8, 2001 in American Fork and they lived in St George Utah until her passing on January 28, 2005. Grover then moved back to Provo and met Norma Anderson Clifford on a blind date. They were married on January 14, 2006 in the Mt Timpanogos Temple. Grover is survived by his wife, Norma; daughters Marlyn Jensen and Wendy (Walter) Barr; sons Gary (Sue Ann) Cochran, Robert (Sioux) Cochran, Kent (Leslie) Cochran and Kirby (Elaine) Cochran and also by Norma's children Carol, Barbara, Arlene, David and their spouses. He also has 33 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 4 great great children. He and Norma have a combined family of over 150 descendants. Grover was preceded in death by his wives, Alyce and Adele, his parents and his brother, Warren. Funeral services will be held at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem Utah on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 11 am. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Burial will be at the American Fork Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Walker Sanderson Funeral Home in Orem. As per his request in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Primary Children's Hospital or the LDS Church's Perpetual Education Fund.
