You’ll never be forgotten by your brothers and sisters in arms who were with you. I keep singing your favorite John Denver song you always played when we’re in a mission together... “leaving on a jetplane ... don’t know when I’ll be back again...”. A brother I lost, but will never be forgotten!” May Lord Jesus Christ with the Angels and the Saints be with you, Brother Lupe, in Heaven!✝

To my Brother in arms Lupe. I have never forgotten you brother. Everywhere I go in my military career and someone ask me about the deployments that I have been too you are the first thing I talk about. I serve with my brother I Kuwait and Iraq and i always tell them all the missions and great times we had together and how in the unit we were only 3 Latinos and we will always be together and we got the nickname "The 3 Amigos" always in competition on who got the most miles on missions, who had the longest days on the road so on and so on. You will always be a part of my life brother. I will see you again on the other side. From 1SG Jammy Serrano.

Hey Brother,
I'm back again. It's been a while but the last time I talked to your wife she'd just dropped her phone in water. I gave her some advice with rice, but I think she ended up getting a new one. I have so much to say... Just know you are not forgotten, I may not post on Facebook for everyone to see, I may not even talk to my wife. But know you are not forgotten, your on my mind often, and forever in my heart.

Sgt Cervantes. Any time I have an really bad day, I remember those horribly hot days when we were all so miserable and grumpy and tired. But you would still be smilling, and joking or randomly talking someone just to make us laugh. You kept me going on those bad days. Thank you. I miss you

It's been a while. I just wanted to stop by and tell you, you are not forgotten. I think of you often. I've spoken with your wife several times on Facebook, and I pray for them every time I see them on my news feed. Your kids are growing up fast you would be proud.
I'll talk to you soon.

Sgt. Cervantes was my main man. I knew if I needed help with anything, he'd be the one that had an answer for me.
Even then I could just go to him and talk about how crappy my day was and he'd cheer me up by telling me how crappy his day was... lol.
This man is a true American hero!!

To the family of Sgt. Guadalupe Cervantes Ramirez:
Please know that just as your loved one remains in your hearts and minds; his sacrifice, and that of your family, remains with the people he died defending. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for his bravery and selflessness, or the heartache we feel for your loss. God bless and keep you always.

I will always remember my brother in arms as always having fun and the jokes and trying to past each other on the road during missions, who is going to get to the next FOB first? Lupe? Moreno? Or me? it was always great to find each other on the road, especially if we were all three together just to tell stories of how many break downs, IED's and so many other things that will happen to each other in our trips. Back in Kuwait we will always take the pickup truck to go to Subway, it be Lupe, Moreno, Esco and me, the 4 Amigos, so many good memories, not a day goes by brother that I don’t remember you. I still remember giving the command for the 21 Gun Salute, it was the hardest thing I have ever done because I wanted to cry but I could not, I needed for my Hermano to know that I did it right. We were never the same, we came home one of the 4 amigos short. We all love you Lupe and I will see you when my time here is done. To the Cervantes family may they know that his military family will always remember him.

On april 23rd of 2000 i kissed my best friend for the first time...i was soooooo in love with him! At first he didn't kiss me back, my heart sank...all these thoughts were rushing through my head like "friends kiss all the time" or " i kiss everybody like that". I didnt know what i would say to make it okay but then all of a sudden he started kissing me back! He held me sooooo tightly and told me how much he loved me and for how long he had waited for that moment! "You put me in the clouds!" was what he said to me. That Christmas he proposed to me by putting an engagement ring in my stocking! On april 23rd of 2001, just one year after that first kiss we were married! Every anniversary we would draw clouds inside our cards to each other and tell each other that we are still in the clouds! On our 7th wedding anniversary he was killed overseas and my whole world collapsed...i wanted to die with him. I had never imagined somthing hurting so bad...i didnt even want to get out of bed...then i heard our daughters voice calling for me. I realized in that moment that he was not completely gone. I still have the best part of him in our two children. I see so much of him when i look at Amy and Mikey! We all three miss him so much! I hope he knows that he still puts me in the clouds!
Thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers and kind words. It means so much to know how many lives my husband touched. I know he will never be forgotten.

Hello my friend, once again i reminisce the good times we had while on missions, OIF 2007-2009. You've been our Guardian Angel and kept our convoys and missions safe after you left. Every time we departed the F.O.B and into danger I knew you were leading and watching over us.
We soon depart from this long tedious journey and back to our familias and lives, but know this- we all carry you in our hearts and minds and we will never forget you! You lightened our way and God knew the tears, struggle and sacrifice we endured in your absence. It is now over and we carry your memory with us. Gracias amigo que dios te tenga en su Santo Reino. Te extranamos.
Ms. Cervantes, may God guide you and give you strength to carry on. He loved you dearly and as i recall he spoke about you and how he missed you, for you were his life. Your husband is our finest beloved hero "Pep Boys" and will never be forgotten. GOD BLESS and stay strong!

To the family and parents of Guadalupe I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you.

The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!
I would also like to tell you about a website, http://groups.msn.com/SSPSoldierPor
traits/homepage,
where some wonderful people will make wood portraits of your fallen Hero for free for the immediate family. I became aware of this site when I wanted to do something special for Le Ron’s mother.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Father we entrust our brother Guadalupe to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Guadalupe in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathies.

To The Family;
I am terribly sorry for your loss. SGT Cervantes was truly a hero in our unit and was a wonderful person inside and out. I am honored to have served with him as he gave 110% to everything he did and always showed his good heart to others. I will continue to pray for all of you back home and we all feel here in 2nd HET that we now have another guardian angel to watch over us while we are on the road. God Bless you all and your families. He will never be forgotten.

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
