Guido Henry Lilienthal was born on August 3, 1928, at home near Plato, Minnesota. He was the son of Heinrich "Henry" and Lydia (Elling) Lilienthal. Guido was baptized as an infant on August 19, 1928, by Pastor Zwintocher, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on March 28, 1942, by Pastor Ehlen both at St. John's Lutheran Church in Plato, Minnesota. He received his education at a country school in rural Plato, Minnesota. On November 27, 1965, Guido was united in marriage to Olga Jopp by Pastor Brill at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Minnesota. Their union was blessed with four children, Dennis, Deanna, Darren and Denise. Guido and Olga made their home in rural Plato, Minnesota. They shared over 47 years of marriage. Guido was a farmer and loved working with his dairy cattle, hogs and planting the fields. His faith was very important to Guido, as was being a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Plato, Minnesota, where he served in many capacities such as a trustee, usher, a member of the cemetery board and Men's Club. Guido's passion and love was trapping. He also enjoyed dancing, reading, listening to old time music, driving the 3 wheeler and watching the Minnesota Twins, wrestling and boxing on television. Guido especially cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren and friends. Guido passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine, Minnesota, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 16 days. Blessed be his memory. Guido is survived by his: Wife, Olga Lilienthal of Plato, MN; Children, Dennis Lilienthal and his wife, Roberta, of Plato, MN, Deanna Scott and her husband, Perry, of Chanhassen, MN, Darren Lilienthal and his wife, Teri, of Plato, MN, Denise Busse and her husband, Scott, of Glencoe, MN; Grandchildren, Colton Lilienthal, Devin Lilienthal, Kaden Lilienthal, Rogan Lilienthal, Payton Lilienthal, Spencer Lilienthal, Beau Busse, Reid Busse, Quin Busse, Meara Busse, Laria Busse, Cybli Busse; Sister-In-Law, Darlene Lilienthal of Plato, MN; Brother-In-Law, LeRoy Jopp and his wife, Teri, of Lakeville, MN; Many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and many friends. Guido is preceded in death by his Parents, Henry and Lydia Lilienthal; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Paul and Gertrude Jopp; Siblings, Verona Lilienthal, Vernon Lilienthal and his wife, Lena, Audrey Neseth and her husband, Robert, Milan Lilienthal and his wife, JoAnn, Victor Lilienthal, Richard Lilienthal; Sisters-In-Law, Evangeline Tober and her husband, Fred, Bonnie Lou Barlau and her husband, William; Brother-In-Law, Roger Jopp.
