Gurdial "Joe" Johal September 21, 1946 - February 24, 2015 Joe Johal, the grandson of one of India's first pioneers to Canada passed away peacefully on February 24th at home surrounded by family. Joe's journey started September 21, 1946 in Vancouver, he grew up in Kitsilano, attending Henry Hudson Elementary and then Kitsilano High School. He was one of the "cool" kids and his life was full of adventure. In his later years, Joe's life was filled with the love for his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He leaves behind a tremendous amount of people whose hearts he will be in forever. He was one of a kind, a true fighter, and will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 1st at 10:00 am at Riverside Funeral Home, 7410 Hopcott Road, Delta, followed by a church service at 1:30 pm at Brookside Gurdawara, 8365 140th Street, Surrey.
