Savannah - Mr. Gus Young, 79, entered eternal rest Thursday, March 9, 2023.
Mr. Gus Young leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Catherine B. Young; daughters, Linda Howard, Priscilla Young-Hargrove (Cassius), Brenda Young-Scott (Timothy), Pamela Young-Quarterman (Michael), Stephanie Young; brothers, Mack W. Young Jr., Roosevelt Young (Beautina), Bobby L. Young Sr., Bernard Young, Lovelace T. Young (Justina); sister, Phyles Y. Baxter (Jerome), 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Christ Community Church, 1805 E. Gwinnett St., Savannah, Georgia 31404.
Interment: Oakgrove Cemetery

Just learned of Mr. Gus’s passing. Worked with Mr.Gus at Continental Can for years. He always had good things to say about everybody. Will keep the family in our prayers.

I attended Springfield Terrace Elementary School from 1st thur 7th grade with Gus .Always remembered him as a ,soft spoken , quiet , very humble person . God has gained an Angel ! To the family forever be proud and grateful for the life he lived . Rest in Peace my friend .

Gus was soldout to God. His love and committment to God was evident to all that came in contact with him. I will always remember the times we spent at Pops taking about the Word and the Goodness of God. Gus has kept the faith and finished his race. He will be greatly missed!!

I remember meeting Gus Young back in 1975 at Continental Can Company. Gus and I became both coworkers and friends. Gus was a good person and he tried to get along with everyone.
