Guy Moxley Hayes Jr.

Guy Moxley Hays Jr., 76, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Thomasville, Georgia. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 15 at 2 p.m. at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street, with the Rev. Marcus Tripp officiating. The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be private. The family suggests that any memorials be made to Vineville United Methodist Church, 2045 Vineville Ave, Macon 31204 or Stratford Academy, 6010 Peake Road, Macon 31210.

Guy was born in Macon to the late Guy Moxley Hays Sr. and Marion Lowe Hays. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Hays. Guy was a member of Vineville United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Lanier High School in 1958 and served in the U. S. Navy. Guy worked in sales with McKesson/Robins. He loved to travel and was a caregiver for his wife, Mary Lee, until her death in 2012.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Peggy Simmons of Macon, nephew, Marcus (Carol) Simmons of Athens; niece, Dana (Ross) Adams of Forsyth; step-children; Dave (Susan) Rozier Jr. of Macon, Millie (Agust) Thorsson of Tallahassee, FL; five grandchildren; and several great nieces and nephews.
