It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Guy Labelle on October 8, 2015, surrounded by his loving family and wife of 69 years, Louise Brodeur. Born in 1920 in Montreal. Guy is survived by his children, Hélène (l'hon. Marc De Wever), Jacques (Suzanne Laurin), Suzanne (Bruce Shadeed), and Robert (Marissa Mancini), his grandchildren, Marie-Christine (Daniel Asselin), Marie-Louise (Robert Badowski), Katou (Clarence Simon), Michael (Carole Dallala), Nicholas, Sophie (Luc Gauthier), Alexander, Julie and Stéphanie and 6 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends. A successful businessman, his career included accomplishments in the construction industry as well as a distinguished post in the public sector retiring at the age of 68. Guy served as a member of the board of directors of COGECO from 1957 to 1998. His greatest gift was his love of family and his ability to bond with all of those around him. He leaves us with the memory of a father and a husband who enjoyed life to the fullest and whose generosity and caring serves as an example for his family to live by. He will be sadly missed. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Château Westmount for their kind and devoted care. The family will receive condolences at Urgel Bourgie funeral complex , 1255 Beaumont, T.M.R. on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14 at 11:30 a.m. at Saint-Joseph de Mont-Royal Church 1620 Laird, Mont-Royal. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sainte-Justine Hospital foundation or Montreal Children Hospital foundation.
