Miss Polomark instilled in us an appreciation of fine literature and music, taught us proper use of the English language and the joy of creative writing. She made history come alive and awakened us to the world around us. She taught us to be responsible, caring citizens. She was an inspiration to many. The example she set will long live on in the students who followed in her footsteps to be teachers themselves. And when I think of the word 'teacher', I think of Gwen Polomark.

Miss Polomark was a mentor to so many of us.We learned from her to work to be the best that you can be. She taught us perfect English, a love for music, a discipline for life, and a love of God and humanity. I respect and cherish her strength and wisdom and ask God to keep her in his loving care. May God speed her into his heavenly kingdom!

I will remember Miss Polomark for her dedication and commitment to her family, her teaching, her church and her community. She was a special friend to my mother, Nettie Choma and I will always remember the visits to her home.

I am so sorry to hear that our teacher of English has passed on. She is someone I remember with fondness. She was a stern teacher but one that you respected immensely once you graduated. My prayers are with you.
