Gwendolin Lee Flaherty Gwendolin E. Flaherty HANSON Mrs. Gwendolin Lee Gwen (Olsen) Flaherty, 84 of Hanson formerly of Dorchester died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Weymouth Healthcare Center. The daughter of the late Severin and Anna (Lee) Olsen, she was born on February 8, 1925. She was raised and educated in Arlington and had lived in Dorchester for 45 years before moving to the Town and Country Estates in Kingston for 5 years. She has lived with her daughter Joan Leonard in Hanson for the last 10 years. Mrs. Flaherty had been a member of the St. Ambrose Mothers Club, a St. Ann's CYO Band Chaperone in the early 1970's, a lifelong Red Sox Fan, had worked at Kennedys in downtown Boston and at the Stop and Shop Warehouse where she met her husband. Wife of the late John F. Flaherty, she is survived by 5 children, Ann Feeney and her husband James of Dorchester, John F. Flaherty Jr. of Dorchester, Barbara Connors and her husband Kenneth of North Andover, Joan Leonard and her husband James of Hanson and Thomas Flaherty and his wife Theresa of Plymouth. She was the sister of Arnold S. Olsen and his wife Arlyss of White Bear Lake MN. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by Robert J. McCormick. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St, Rte 14 in Hanson. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester.
