I am saddened to find out about the passing of Miss Lanier. Mama Lanier is what I used to call her. I had just arrived back into the United State for overseas and couldn't get her on the phone. So I turned to the Internet. To my sup rise her obituary popped up. She Fostered and adopted my son and then helped me to get my son back home. She believed my truth of a broken and abused woman and helped me rebuilt my family and renew our life with no questions asked... God put a true angel on this earth. Not only for my son but for me for a short period of time as a abused child as well. Thank you for taking in not only my son but me as well. I know You were our guardian angel sent from heaven.

It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Gwen Sneed Lanier. I have known her and her brother, Bobby, since we were children. We both also attended Fifth Avenue High School.
On behalf of Fifth Avenue High School classes of 1960 and 1961, we extend to the family our deepest sympathy. Gwen was missed at the 2011 and 2016 class reunions.

Dear Cousin Merle, Even though we have not seen or talked to one another for several years, I will always cherish the "back in the day" good times that we shared as cousins and visiting you on Hamilton Avenue sitting on your porch! You were always a lot of fun and had a phenomenal smile and laugh! I know that Aunt Eddie was waiting on you in heaven with open arms! Rest in peace my cousin and God Bless!
Love you,
Cousin Jackie Sneed Dandridge
