PIEPER, Gwendolyn (Sue), of Roanoke, VA, joined many of her family, in the presence of the Lord, on Sunday, December 4, 2011. She and her husband Charles Monroe, who predeceased her, have been residents of Ohio, Florida, Floyd County and most recently, Roanoke County, VA. They were the anchor of the family of four children, Joyce Stevens and husband John now living in Christiansburg, Jim Pieper and wife Sharon in Jacksonville, Florida, Christy Wente in Roanoke, and Fred Pieper who predeceased his parents. Gigi will also be lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and by her special care-giver and many friends. Gwendolyn is adoringly described as "a true lady of grace with a song in her heart." She has touched many lives and has been a beautiful role model for those who follow in her footsteps. Graveside services will be Monday, December 12, 2011 in the Ehrstein Cemetery on Salem Bend Road, Dayton. Arrangements entrusted to the Tobias Funeral Home Englewood Chapel, 675 West Wenger Road.

Dear Family,
I wanted to send my condolences and wishes to you all...Sue was part of my life for a long time and I will always remember her kindness and gentle ways. She was truly a beautiful spirit with a big heart. I know her family meant everything to her and it showed. I remember, fondly, how much she loved to sing and the "twinkle" in her eyes. May you all be comforted by each other at this time and know she is in God's hands now and with Charlie...I feel very blessed to have many wonderful memories of her. Much love to you, Sue.
