H S Jon Haney Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 19 to Jul. 23, 2023.
Delta - Life story prepared by his loving family: H S Jon Haney, born on 12 April 1947 passed away on Friday 14 July 2023. He was at home with his wife Candy and his daughter Breezy by his side.

Jon was born to Herbert and Florence Haney of Stroudsburg, PA. Jon's birth name was Harry Stephen Haney....after his uncle, who went down in his plane during WWII, never to be recovered. He is survived by one sibling, his younger sister, Susan Labadie and her four daughters.

Jon proudly served in the US Navy, Undersea Warfare on the USS Tigrone. He then took his career to land, having a career with Peco Energy & Exelon Corp., spanning over 44 years. Starting as a lineman and retiring as a lead installation rep and heavy rigging consultant. Jon loved the company he worked for and even more so, the people he worked with. He affected many lives working at the plant for all those years. His coworkers beam with pride when they talk of Jon and how he was fair to work for, he always treated everyone with respect and he was good at what he did.

When Jon wasn't working, he preferred to spend his time fly fishing on Muddy Creek with Candy Eckert-Haney, his long-time love and wife. If not in the stream, the two were often in a field, pheasant hunting, with their dog Abbigaille Blu. Jon was also a 32nd Degree Mason in Friendship Lodge #663 of the Free and Accepted Masons, of Fawn Grove.

Jon had three daughters of his own; Gray Campbell, Jena Rae McClure and Breezy Rae Haney. The most joy he found, seemed to be from his seven grandchildren; Gray Aaron, Zoe Rae, Lola Grace, Tasman, Teak, Ever Rae and Quinn Owen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 29, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 7 p.m., at Peach Bottom Inn, 6085 Delta Road Delta, PA. A Masonic Service will begin at 5:00 pm.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., of Delta, PA.
