Hannah Jarrett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 27, 2016.
Hannah Lynn Jarrett, 15, passed away on January 26, 2016 @ 3:45pm. She is survived by her parents, Jon and Lynn, her sisters Abigail and Amanda, and by grandparents, aunts and uncles, and many cousins.

Hannah was a fighter for life up until the very end. She was born with congenital heart defects that required 3 heart surgeries by age 2. Complications from her last surgery almost took her life then, but God saved her to make a huge impact on the world :)
Hannah always had joy and smiles, and was such a positive light to all she encountered. "Can't or Won't" were never in her vocabulary. She approached everything with resiliency and persistence. When she had her Taekwondo black belt test in October, she showed that even though she was exhausted by all the requirements, she pressed on to achieve her black belt.
Hannah accepted Jesus into her heart in 3rd grade, and always loved to learn more about God and pursue her relationship with Him through youth group, service projects, and domestic mission trips.
Hannah was a confident introvert. When she felt comfortable around people, she had no trouble voicing her input, but also had a very kind and loyal heart to those she loved. She was always so positive about everyone and everything, and rarely complained.
Hannah fought hard for 3 weeks to battle sepsis (blood infection) and endocarditis (heart infection), and was a true inspiration to so many. But, in the end, her body just became overwhelmed to try and overcome the infections.
God gifted her with amazing strength and perseverance.
Philippians 4:13-I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. I had the pleasure of being Hannah's teacher for two years. My nickname for her was "Hannah Banana" and it stuck through eighth grade. It was something that made her chuckle and boy did her smile light up a room! My thoughts and prayers are with your family...I will never forget my Hannah Banana. Sending love and strength your way.

Lynn,

I don't think we've ever met before so I hope I'm not intruding but I just needed to tell you how deeply saddened I am to hear about Hannah. I was a leader last year in Rustproof and I just wanted you to know that your daughter left a HUGE imprint on my heart. I didn't see her as often as I would've liked to because I volunteered mostly at the 11 a.m on Sunday but I got to spend time with her on the trips and the Wednesday community group. It took me a minute to get her to open up but once I did boy was she a light. And when people said she was quiet I was secretly snickering thinking 'not when you know her'.She used to talk about her friend all the time I want to say her name is Mary (hopefully I remember correctly) and she would have the funniest stories. She never talked bad about anyone and she was always very positive and fun, There are probably no words that I can say that no one else has, and there is probably very little I can do to ease the pain but please know that my prayers are with you and Hannah will forever be in my heart. As much as I know and believe in my heart that it was God's plan, I still can't help but cry at the news.

My condolences to your family. I am so very sorry for the loss of Hannah in our world. May you find comfort in the Lord's faithfulness when it is impossible to understand His reasoning. He has not forsaken you and He will carry you through this horrific time of mourning. I hope it is not long before your memories and stories of Hannah bring sounds of laughter in the room and the blessing of her puts a smile on your heart. She is an awesome child of God. May God bless and comfort each one of you with His tender love.

Dear Jarrett Family,

I would like to give you my sincere condolences. I have had Hannah in my thoughts and prayers during these weeks she was being cared for at Motts. Nothing has been more tragic in my teaching career than getting the call last night and hearing that she had passed.

After the disbelief, I was immediately taken to memories of her in class, willingly creating Quizlets online to study vocab, and so proud of the connections she had made between her choice novel in the Percy Jackson series and The Odyssey which Mr. Palmer was getting ready to start in English class.

Today, when Mrs. Kenison and I told the other students in Workshop class, all eyes went to the Word Wall board where our vocabulary words are logged. Last week, each student had chosen one word to describe him or herself for the midterm exam list. Because Hannah had been out, we decided to go ahead and pick one for her on that day too. The chosen word was "compatible' because we all agreed how easy going and friendly Hannah was. Our hearts are heavy that this sweet, kind, caring girl will no longer be with us.

Please know she is being remembered by her teachers and friends. We are holding your family up in our thoughts and prayers.

With deepest sympathy,
Megan Gustitus

To the Jarrett Family,
I want to extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences. I have been thinking of Hannah and your family over the past many weeks.
Hannah will be so dearly missed in our 2nd Hour English class. Not only will she be missed, but also remembered for the light, happiness and joy that she brought into our classroom every day. Today in class, she was referred to by another student as "the girl who always smiled".
Last week, every student had to choose a word to describe themselves. In lieu of her absence, the students chose a word that they thought was a good representation of who Hannah was. From a list of 60 words, they agreed that she was "Compatible", because of her sweet nature and ability to easily get along with others. Today, several students also insisted on removing her word from our word-wall board so it could be placed independently as a tribute to your daughter. "Compatible", along with a picture of Hannah will now be displayed as a remembrance of an incredible classmate.

Please know we will continue to keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. Hannah will always be remembered by all her teachers and classmates here at the Park.
