HANNELORE SIGURDSON Obituary

Hannelore Augusta Greta Sigurdson (nee Schweinebart) passed away on December 28, 2011 in Wadena, SK at the age of 82 years. Oma is lovingly remembered by her husband Karl Edward Sigurdson and her family: daughters Anne (David Bocking), Barbara and her sons Michael, Karl (Donna) and Chris (Karen Robb). She is revered by her grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, and Megan Bocking; Graham Sigurdson; Ben Boxall, Jordan and Nicholas Sigurdson. Hannelore was born January 19, 1929 in Hanover Germany. She was predeceased by her parents Georg F. and Anne E. Schweinebart and her sister Wilma Schultz. Hannelore married Karl Sigurdson of Elfros, SK on May 6, 1953 in Hanover Germany and shortly after moved to Canada, where she began to raise her family. After farming for awhile, a change in careers for her husband Karl saw the family move to Hanley, Viscount, Broadview, Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Carlyle, and Yorkton. Eventually she and Karl retired to the family homestead near Elfros in 1983. They resided there, raising, horses, pigs and cattle until moving into Wadena in 2008. The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care she received at the Pleasant View Care Home in Wadena. A celebration of Hannelore's life and legacy will be held at a later date.
