Hans-Joachim PAGENKOPF Obituary
Hans-Joachim Pagenkopf passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the age of 82 years. Hans was born in Gehlweiden, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1953. He married Ingrid, his wife of 51 years in Calgary where they settled to raise their family. As an entrepreneur, Hans worked with one of his brothers to create a successful pallet manufacturing business which they ran together until his retirement in 1987. He had a passion for gardening, music, and the beautiful expansive landscape of western Canada, his adopted home. Above all, his devotion was to his family for whom his characteristically quiet strength and support was ever present. Hans is survived by his wife Ingrid, sons Paul and Ralf (Whitney), daughters Andrea (Bruce) and Christine (Darren), 5 grandchildren, and many other members of the extended Pagenkopf family. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
