Bill and Eleanore
August 28, 2014
I became a Christian is 1976 on a 747 coming back from Hawaii and failing to solve our marriage. Prior to this Pastor Harald would stop at our house ( which I was rarely at?) and I would offer him a ciggarette and rum and coke. Yes, I got that sweet shy smile ' and much more. Conversation. Real talk about anything. He never judged me and accepted me as I was and always had time to talk to me. The morning after accepting the Lord at age 36 I called Harald and he was at our house in 10 minutes. He once told me that I should never put any one person in front of the cross but Jesus. Honestly, I had a hard time not putting Harald in front of the cross. Eleanore and I loved Harald and Edna more than words can say and to the boys and favorite girl, our deepest condolences but in all reality I always enveyed you guys for having such wonderful parents. See you soon Harald!!!!!!

Harold, we will remember him as our
current day Nehemiah for sure. When the impossible confronted him, his first & only resort was to pray. We first encountered Harold, Edna & family while living in Dawson Creek & they pastoring in Ft. St. John. Who would have ever thought, years later while on the leadership team in Surrey, we had the treasured privilege of Harold's interim loving care for us in a most difficult time in SAC's near history. Ironically, it was our joy to have his son, Leon on staff years earlier who never ceased to challenge us throughout his time with us. Harold & Edna will forever be remembered in our hearts as tireless soldiers of Christ. Our prayers are with the family who remain to carry out the "Great Commission" so deeply rooted within Mom & Dad's heart,

Your dad & mom were wonderful people and were a witness of the love of Christ. They were genuinely interested and loved people (no matter what age) and had such a passion for Christ. You dad had such an incredible memory, worked and studied hard. He will be missed for a while until we all "go home". Our family will remember you all in our prayers during this time.
