Charlotte, NC

Harold Spencer Doss, 74, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease, on Friday, December 11, 2015 at White Oak Manor Nursing Home. Born on April 26, 1941 in Mayodan, NC to Dallas and Etta Mae Doss. After serving in the Army during the Vietnam War, he lived most of his life in Knoxville with his wife, Mildred and only child Michelle. Harold was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He worked in Manufacturing at Robertshaw for over twenty years before retiring. In his spare time, he loved watching NC Tarheel basketball and playing the lottery scratch off tickets. After retirement, Harold and his late wife, Mildred, moved to Charlotte to be closer to Michelle.

He is survived by Michelle Powers, his son-in-law, Anthony Powers; and three grandsons, AJ (7), Brody (5), and Declan (2); his six sisters, Patsy Murray and Caroline Smith of Mayodan, NC, Mrs. Sandy Tilley and her husband Donnie of Madison, NC, Pauline Vaden and Katie Talley of Stoneville, NC and Odell Jank of Walnut Cove; his two brothers, Fred Doss of Mayodan and Charles Doss of Stoneville; as well as his many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mildred Faye Doss; sisters, Odessa Sullivan, and Earlene Sink; brothers, Hassell, and Curtis Doss; and his parents, Dallas and Etta Mae Doss.

A memorial service will be held at Refuge Church at 213 S. Second Ave, Mayodan, NC at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, December 19th. To honor Harold, his family requests that you either buy a lottery scratch off ticket and donate any earnings or simply donate to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research either online or by mail to: Donation Processing, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.

Harold was certainly a one of a kind,he would give you the shirt off of his back. Great boss at Robertshaw, had a
lot of great times at Shaw,everyone who worked with or for him would do anything for him. Sure do miss him and working at Shaw. RIP my friend
