Harold B. Franklin III
67, Carmel, passed away July 29, 2014. He was born October 29, 1946, in Dayton, OH, the son of Harold Franklin Jr. and Esther (Peacock) Hudson. He married Lois Joy (Gabel) Franklin on June 28, 2003.
Harold served in the United States Air Force. He was still actively working as a computer software developer. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed being a part of the choir. He was a former member of King of Glory Lutheran Church. He enjoyed traveling to Lake Michigan, music, trains, and the space program, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Joy Franklin; mother, Esther Hudson; three children, Matthew (Christine) Franklin, Timothy (fiancée Dana Larson) Franklin, Stephanie (Nick) Davis; two step-children, Timothy Swenson and Karissa (Bill) Coggins; seven grandchildren, Garrett, Amanda, Avery, Izabel, Nathan, Will, Connor; brother, David (Carroll) Franklin; and four sisters, Alberta (Larry) Dynes, Barbara Benjamin, Carole (Floyd) Powers, and Donna (Tom) Yates. He was preceded in death by his father.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 West 86th Street. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Luke's United Methodist Church or to King of Glory Lutheran Church. Arrangements: Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple.
