SNELLING, Harold HAROLD EUGENE SNELLING Mr. Harold Eugene Snelling, age 84, of Suwanee, GA passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Jackson Snelling; parents, Edwin D. and Dora Brooks Snelling; brother, T. J. Snelling; sister, Minnie Lee Biddix; and niece, Angie Kay Blalock. He is survived by his sisters, Edna Thigpen, Doraville, GA, Annie Ruth Snelling, Commerce, GA and Mary Francis Bowlan, Commerce, GA; sister-in-law, Ruth Snelling, Douglasville, GA; brother, Rudolph Snelling, Palm City, FL; nieces, Brenda Brock, Fletcher, NC, Sue Kavina, Freedom Rung, VA, and Kim Carlton, Marietta, GA; nephews, Ronnie Biddix, Asheville, NC, Richard Snelling, Douglasville, GA, William Blalock, Cumming, GA and Tommy Snelling, Charlotte, NC; and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Mr. Snelling was born August 10, 1926 in Tignall, GA and lived in Suwanee, GA for fifty years. He was a 1943 graduate of Tignall High School. He was a World War II veteran of the Air Force. He was retired from Sears Commercial Tire Division. He was a member of Shadowbrook Baptist Church in Suwanee, GA. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Shadowbrook Baptist Church in Suwanee, GA with Rev. Bobby Linkous and Rev. Rick Patchin officiating with remains placed in state at 1:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA with military honors. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shadowbrook Baptist Church or to Crossroads Hospice.
