In memory of
DAVID SCOTT

It's been a tough year not being able to call Harold and tell him who's playing at the Blue Note or Birdland. I can't call him and razz the Cowboys or complain about the Knicks. I can't share any of my latest writings or have him attend my graduation two years from now. Rather than focus on what I can't do, I'd rather focus on what I still have, and that's the memory of a great friend for the last fifty years. I will always have great memories of all the things we did together and those are memories that will live forever. He'll always be missed but never forgotten.

Fond childhood memories growing up... Fishing and swimming in the Chesapeake Bay. Playing outdoors as children, and all the mischief that goes along with that!!! Harold A. Young Jr. was the oldest of my first cousins - a mentor, leader, and friend!
"In Christ", my heart-felt condolences go out to Margaret and Edgar!

My heart is heavy as I write what I never thought I would ever have to. I am still mourning the loss of a friendship that has lasted over five decades. Harold and I were brothers from other mothers, and to no surprise, our mothers knew each other. We both believed in living life to the fullest, and Harold excelled in all his endeavors. He was a successful business executive while still taking the time to pursue the things he really loved. We attended well over a thousand jazz concerts together. We rode our bicycles hundreds of miles every summer and played hundreds of basketball games with and against each other. I could always call him, and he´d be willing to join me in different social and cultural activities. Our birthdays were three weeks apart, and we always took the time to celebrate. I am going to miss my brother but have to focus on the friendship I had and not what I don´t have any longer. Our friendship made me a better person, and I hope as he continues his journey, I had the same impact on him. Rest in peace, and your spirit will live with us forever.

I met Harold through a mutual friend and I worked with him at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company at the start of my banking career. I always say that Harold introduced me to banking. He was an amazing person who was gifted with laser perception about people and situations and a very generous heart.
God Bless you Harold and you family. You are a special person.

Harold was my first manager when i joined the International Product Management Group at Bankers Trust. He was instrumental in teaching me trade finance and was a great mentor to me early in my career. Most importantly he taught me to treat all people with respect and to be true to my core values. While our careers took us in different directions for a while, we re-united at Deutsche Bank in differnet roles in NY and he was always there for support and guidance. Rest in Peace Harold. God Bless.
