Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 15, 2024.
Harriet Perkins Trupe, aged 68, passed away on June 27, 2024, in Washington, D.C. Born on January 4, 1956, in Bethesda, MD, Harriet was a beacon of perseverance, strength, and kindness throughout her life.

Harriet dedicated her professional life to accounting, becoming the beloved "tax lady" to many. Her commitment to her career was paralleled by her dedication to her faith. A devout attendee of Mount Rainier Christian Church and later University Christian Church, she embodied the principles of her belief through constant service and support to her community.

In her personal life, Harriet was a pillar of support to her family and friends. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Melissa, who preceded her in death. Harriet's legacy continues through her sisters, brother, niece, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephew, cousins and countless other family and friends who looked up to her as a source of love, wisdom, and guidance.

Harriet's hobbies included reading religious and historical books, playing Scrabble with her nephews, running a Jeopardy category, and spending cherished moments with her great nieces and nephew. These activities reflected her playful loving spirit and intellectual curiosity.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on August 17, 2024, at University Christian Church in Hyattsville, MD. The cremation was handled by Harman Funeral Services in Glen Bernie, MD. Harriet's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, love, and dedication to God, and those around her will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor to know her.

Harriet - I just found out that you decided to take your next journey. Some of your old friends from Lockheed Martin were thinking of old times and decided to try to find you, but we missed you. Thank you for all the advice over the years and the laughter - all happy memories... you will be in our hearts. Take care of those indirect allocations up there.

I'm very glad I got to know Harriet when I worked with her at the PG Plaza bowling center. She was a very smart and sensitive lady with a great sense of humor. She was very dedicated to her faith and her family.

Harriet was definitely the definition of pillar of the community. Her love of God, the church, her family, and friends was beautifully remarkable. Harriet has watched my siblings and I grow up at Mt. Rainier Christian Church. And it has been a pleasure and a blessing to be a part of her family. Billy, the girls, and I will truly miss her. Rest in heaven Harriet. Give our love to Melissa.

What a nice tribute to her. She was my friend and co-worker for many years. I will miss talking with her, laughing about old times, and giving each other advice.

Harriet was a great woman and I enjoyed the many deep conversations that she and I had, especially after Missa passed. She was inspirational and always ready with good advice when I needed some. Harriet, you will definitely be missed! Give Missa a big hug for me when you see her!
