Harriette Thomas Ruberg of Pensacola, formerly of Lillian, AL, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at West Florida Hospital at age 81. She was born in Cambridge, OH on August 26, 1930, daughter of Clarinda White and Harry Thomas.

For 52 years she was the devoted wife of Arthur J. Ruberg. She was a loving mother of Alan T. Ruberg and Lauren Ruberg Silva.

In 1952, she earned a BA in Chemistry from Ohio Wesleyan University as a member of Alpha Delta Pi, and in 1954, an MS in Nutrition from Ohio State University. As a registered dietitian, she worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, the Maryland Health Department, a nephrology clinic, and as a consulting dietician.

In the last few years she was involved with numerous activities and clubs at Azalea Trace, including being a past president of FLiCRA. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and a former member of the Lillian United Methodist Church. She was a member of the 925th support group to the Lillian Masons.

She loved music, theater, and above all else, travel.

Harriette is survived by husband Arthur J. Ruberg, son Alan T. Ruberg and wife Wendy Shindler, daughter Lauren Ruberg Silva and husband Frank Silva, Jr., grandchildren Connie McConahy, Timothy and Brady Silva, Kirsten and Will Garrison, Erin Silva, and Antonia Shindler-Ruberg, and great grandchild Zoe SanLuis.

Memorial Services will be held at St. Luke United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 16 at 11 AM. Interment will have been performed at Ft. Barrancas. Memorial donations can be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1394 E. Nine Mile Road, Pensacola FL 32514.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of West Florida Hospital, especially those in the Emergency Room, the 2nd and 4th floors, and the loving and tireless staff at Covenant Hospice.
