Derby Museums and Art Gallery is very sad to learn of Gilbert's death. Gilbert was a loyal friend and supporter of this museum service over many decades. He was generous to us in many ways - supporting our fundraising efforts, and encouraging and mentoring our curatorial staff. His knowledge, connoisseurship and friendship will be greatly missed.
