Harry Kleiner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 3, 2025.
Harry D. Kleiner 72, of Allentown passed away on Thursday January 2, 2025. Harry was the husband of Marjorie (Weir) Kleiner; they celebrated their 52nd anniversary on December 30th. Born in Schwabach Germany, Harry was a son of the late Gerhard and Hildegard (Hallmeyer) Kleiner. A member of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena church in Allentown, Harry volunteered both as a lector and a Eucharistic minister. Prior to retirement, Harry served 25 years as a police officer in the borough of Catasauqua. Harry had a passion for nature spending his free time outdoors bicycling, hiking, and tending to his expansive gardens. His eclectic love of music both delighted and mystified his family bouncing from Beethoven to ABBA to the Statler Brothers in his own personal genre of audio whiplash. Harry loved animals from his pet cat Midnight, known for attacking priests to the enclave of goats that would visit the halls of Cedarbook in his last days. His humor was well known in its infamy filling rooms with howls of laughter at cheesy dad jokes and bleats of inappropriate chuckling at his dips into puerile humor. He was truly a beacon of light and love and warmth to those who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Surviving with his wife Marjorie, are his sons Andrew J., and Bryan and his wife Lydia. Harry's brother is Gary Kleiner. Harry will be reunited with his son Eric, and his sister Angi.

Graveside Services will be 11:00AM on Wednesday January 8, 2025, in the Resurrection Cemetery Allentown. Calling Hours will be Tuesday January 7, 2025, from 7:00-8:30PM at the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 908 Hanover Avenue Allentown, PA.
