Harry Erik Sjoberg

Harry Erik Sjoberg, 69, of Chattanooga, Tenn. passed away at his home on June 5, 2004. Harry was born April 23, 1935 in Duluth, MN. to Erik and Ruth Magnuson Sjoberg. He was a 1953 graduate of East High School where he served as captain of the hockey team. Harry joined the U.S. Marines where he served from 1956 until 1958. He retired as Risk Manager from the Municipality of Anchorage (Alaska) after 24 years of service. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved golfing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erik and Ruth, and brother Ronnie. Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and friend. We will miss him dearly and his great sense of humor. Survivors are his loving wife of 22 years, Linda Sjoberg; children, Debra Sjoberg, Key West, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Vilma Sjoberg, Chandler, Ariz..; son, Mark Sjoberg, Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, Nora Sjoberg, Chattanooga; daughter and son-in-law, Desiree and Jonathan Youshock, Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Skylar Josephine White, Key West, Fla.; Julie Ann and Susan Marie Sjoberg, Chandler, Ariz.; Thomas Erik Youshock, Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Pat Nelson, Marlene (Roger) Fjone , Barbara (Lynn) Peterson; sister-in-law, Patricia Sjoberg all of Duluth, Minn.; several nieces and nephews. SERVICES:1 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Art Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Scott Sjoberg, Jonathan Youshock, Donald L. Gray, Mark Sjoberg, Joseph Lombardo III and Debra Kay Sjoberg serving as pallbearers. Lamar Brown will serve as honorary pallbearer. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4355 Highway 58, St. 101, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
