Harry M Stoner

Harry M. Stoner passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the age of 83.

Harry was born in Altus, Oklahoma July 25, 1934 to Harry M and Annie (Manire) Stoner joining sisters Meredith and Beth. Harry graduated from Altus High School in 1952 and the University of Oklahoma in 1959 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Harry served in the US Army from 1955-56 and transferred to USAR until he was honorably discharged in 1963.

Harry moved to Denver, Colorado to work for United Airlines and that is where he met a stewardess named Catharine Clark. They were married in 1960. Harry and Cathy were relocated with United to Chicago, Illinois where their three children, Stacy, Scott and Monte were born. A new career took the family to Sunnyvale, CA where they met wonderful friends and the Flamingo Way families would all camp together. Harry returned to United and the family moved to Buffalo Grove for a few years. In 1975 the family visited Harry's high school friend, Glynn (Kayo) Gordon in Lake Saint Louis and knew that's where the family wanted to live. Four months later, the family called Lake Saint Louis home.

Harry and Cathy were involved in numerous committees and organizations but their favorites were the golf and sailing clubs. Harry also worked the chains at Wentzville home football games. Harry worked part –time at West Marine prior to his stroke in 2012, not so much for the paycheck but the discount!

Harry loved his family, travel, the Cardinals, Sooner football but especially sailing and golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and their husbands and his wife of 52 years, Catharine. Harry is survived by his daughter, Stacy, of Lake Saint Louis, MO and his sons, Scott (Kris) of Highlands Ranch, CO and Monte of Moscow Mills, MO. He will be missed greatly by his nine grandchildren: Matthew Hume, Caitlin (Nick) Marinig, Sarah Hume, Taylor Hume, Ryan Stoner, Jack Stoner, Sherry (Kraig) Tenge, Sam Stoner, Shey Stoner and four great grandchildren: Madeline Hume, Sawyer Marinig, Konnor Tenge and Reise Tenge.

Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to Special Olympics, Attn: donations, 2945 S Brentwood Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63144, a charity both Harry and Cathy were involved with.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
