Harvard Asher Lloyd GASTON - Harvard Asher Lloyd, 75, of Gaston, died Friday, April 19. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Reynolds and Rev. Mark Hardenbrook officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 3:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Freddie Stabler, Jr., Leo Saylor, Phil Roland, Danny Stabler, John Geiger and Larry Sebok. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult 4 Sunday School Class and his fellow deacons of Sardis Baptist Church. Mr. Lloyd was born in Lexington County, a son of the late Eugene and Geraldine Argoe Lloyd. He had served in the National Guard, was a retired carpenter and painter, and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church where he served as a former deacon and was a member of The Singspirations. Survivors include his wife Eula Woods Lloyd of the home, five daughters, Donna (Mark) Petrey of Swansea, Mona (Dave) Shirer of Gaston, Teresa (Angelo) Tager of Gaston, Sheila (Jerry) Drake of Lexington, and Jennifer Lloyd of the home; three sisters and six brothers; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfh.com) and other times at the home at 206 Antioch Church Rd., Gaston.
