Harvey Leonard Obituary

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Harvey Clinton Leonard, age 80, passed away on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Harvey was born Dec. 6, 1928, in Mendota, Va., a son of the late Claude and Carrie Fleenor Leonard. He lived in the Bristol area all his life, where he had retired from Raytheon. Mr. Leonard was a member of First Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Leonard; daughters, Cynthia Renee Leonard and Janice Humble and husband Ron; sons, Brian Leonard and Dennis Leonard and wife Sandra; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Marshall Leonard and Harold Leonard; sisters, Louise Bright and Edith Barker; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Leonard will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. John Thrasher and Minister Roy Scarem officiating. The committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 p.m. prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of First Christian Church, 311 Spencer St., Bristol, VA 24201.
