Dear Treichel Family
I began working with Harvey in 2002. Harvey was truly a caring and genuine person. He was a very special man who was always concerned about others. No matter what was happening around him, he was always pleasant and positive. I came to consider him a friend. I will truly miss his presence.

I got to know Harvey 8 years ago, when I was Just getting started in Ft. McMurray. He made the bus trips back to Edmonton to see my family a real pleasure. He never failed to ask how they were doing or when he would be bringing them up to see me. I have always counted Harvey as a friend and as someone I could talk to about almost anything. His advice has helped me countless times! My family will miss you, Harvey! May God bless and keep the Treichel family close to His heart in this time of great sorrow.

I want to pass on my condolences to Mr Treichel's family and share a story of him.
One weekend in November I had a ticket to ride up to Fort Mac to visit my sister. That week I was due to travel was the week of the bus crash in Grande Priarie where a young mom and baby died. Then the night before I travelled a bus crashed in Golden BC and again there were casualties. The day of my travel the forcast was for freezing rain and snow! I seriously reconsidered my trip to Fort Mac but by 5pm gathered the courage to get on your husband/dad's bus.
Your husband/father was so kind and gentle a reassuring to us on the trip. He told us his #1 priority was getting us there and getting us there safely. Our safety came first and the schedule came second. I was 40 mins late getting in but made a point of thanking your husband/dad for getting me there safely. I remember saying "I know it's your job but -Thank you!" Very graciously he said "why you are welcome-and thank you for choosing Red Arrow!
I'm sad to hear he passed away. I'm so sorry for you that are left to mourn him.
He was a kind a gracious man.

We moved to Fort McMurray in 1983 and in the years that followed we came to know Harvey not as the Red Arrow driver, but as “our” Harvey. Over the years, Harvey would bring Grandma to her grandchildren; daughter to her Mother; and grand-daughters to their grandparents. As my girls grew and started to take the bus on their own, they looked forward to their trips with Harvey. I remember him teasing them about being a handful, while grinning at them and passing a side wink to me. Harvey seemed to delight in reuniting our family, whether it be here in Fort McMurray or in Edmonton. He was truly a caring spirit and kind soul. It was not until a couple of days ago that we learned it really was Harvey on that fateful night (we had all prayed that it wasn’t). Your husband, father and grandfather touched the lives of many people along his journey thru life and we will certainly miss him on our next trips. This sad news had my now grown children and I sharing a few tears and stories of “our” Harvey – even now, he’s still reuniting my family.

Harvey loved his job and he enjoyed interacting with people. His exuberence in putting together the Annual Golf Tournament was contagious as was his sense of humour. He will be missed and thought of often.

To Jean Treichel and family:
May the memories of a lifetime comfort you in this time of sorrow. Those of us who worked with Harvey over the years, will never forget his warm and friendly smile or his fun loving attitude. It was always a pleasure to work with Harvey. As a rookie driver many years ago, he was always willing to give me helpful advice. May the golf tournaments be plentiful in Heaven.

We knew Harvey through the busing industry, and through golf tournaments, he was such a happy person that he was a joy to be around.
We rode on his bus often as most of our family had, he was such a fantastic profession driver. He would do anything to make his passengers comfortable.
We were shocked and saddened to find out about the accident, we prayed for him, but God had other plans for him.
Jean and family our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. We pray that time will ease the pain and the happy memories will take over.
God bless you.

Jean and Family: Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Our family knew Harvey for a very long time through his work. My parents and sister were fellow drivers and my husband and I rode with him many times back and forth between Edmonton and Fort McMurray. He always had a smile and a joke to tell. He will be missed dearly.

I have travelled with Harvey many times with Red Arrow. I was always so pleased to see that he was going to be my driver. He always had a smile, sense of humor and a gentle spirit. I will miss him a great deal. I remember the last time we spoke he told me he was looking forward to a finial retirement so he could spend time with his family. My prayers and thoughts are with his wife and family, he always talked with such pride about you. My prayers and thoughts are also with his Red Arrow family, Harvey took pride in his job and loved the people he worked with and were true friends with.

Harvey was a great man, he always had a smile on his face. I was very shocked to learn of the accident as he was a great driver. He was in my thoughts and prayers from the moment I found out. I was hoping and praying that he would make it through this. We dont understand why God takes the best of them, but his reasoning we always will question. Jean and family, my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I know your memories of him as well as the love and support of friends and family will help pull you through this. I will always remember the golf tournaments and the comforting rides to Edmonton or McMurray with him. Rest in Peace Harvey. You will never be forgotten!

Harvey... I didn't know you for very long, but I'm glad I got to meet you. Harvey's smile when he came in from a Bus run was one I'll always remember. Quick to throw a Joke or laugh at mine, he was someone who had a good sense of humour. You'll be missed. See you, my friend...
