Harvey Umberger Sr. Harvey Burton "Butch" Umberger Sr., 84, of Wytheville died on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Steve Ridenhour with the interment in the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church from noon until service time. American Legion Post No. 9 will conduct military graveside rites. He was the son of the late Cloyd C. and Martha Ann Umberger. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, member of American Legion Post No. 9 and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Grace Irene Catron Umberger, of the home; daughters, Rita Umberger Martin of Max Meadows and Regina Lou Umberger of Wytheville; son and daughter-in-law, H.B. Jr. and Janice Umberger; grandchildren and spouses, Zachary T. Martin and Sarah of Christiansburg, Vincent L. Martin of Blacksburg, Stacie Umberger of Wytheville and Cara Umberger Epes and Travis of Floyd; sister-in-law, Ruth L. Umberger of Wytheville; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Virginia 600 W. Ridge Road Wytheville, VA 24382 or to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Property Committee, 405 W.
