Hattie Tease Obituary

Mrs. Hattie Wayne Tease, 93, of Florence, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2007.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, in the atrium of First Baptist Church of Florence. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Pastor Larry Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Florence City Cemetery.

Mrs. Tease was born in Mt. Hope, Ala., and had been a resident of Florence since 1932. She was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church, where she served in various capacities. In addition to her faith and family, she had numerous other interests. She was a gifted gardener, seamstress and cook, sharing these gifts with countless friends and family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Albert Tease; her parents, James Terrell Counts and Lassie Irene Counts; and sister, Helen Jackson.

Mrs. Tease is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Yeiser and husband, Grady, of Savannah, Tenn.; a son, James Edward Tease and wife, Anne, of Florence, Ala.; grandchildren, Denise Yeiser Burcham and husband, Jim, of Louisville, Ky., Donna Yeiser Davis and husband, Kevin, of Savannah, Tenn., Diane Yeiser Patty and husband, Clifton, of Ringgold, Ga.,Emily Tease, of Nashville, Tenn., Terrell Anne Tease Holley and husband, James, of Birmingham, Ala.; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Jimmy Dean Counts Hambrick, of Decatur, Ala.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be deacons of First Baptist Church of Florence. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Parker, H.M. "Fuzzy" Perritt, Dr. Lyman Mitchell, Dennis Homan, Jim Clemons, Bobby Terry, Dr. Robert Koonce and John Archer.

The family would especially like to thank her many friends, including her neighbors, Sam and Rachel Minor and Jim and Barbara Fowler, for their devoted friendship through the years. We also deeply appreciate the many expressions of kindness and concern in these recent months as her health declined. We acknowledge how incredibly blessed we have been by her life and influence.

Expressions of sympathy may by made in memory of Mrs. Tease to First Baptist Church of Florence Building Fund or Florence-Lauderdale Public Library.

Dear Mr and Mrs Tease: Our heart goes out to you and your family in your time of need. Mrs Anne Tease was a good person when my son Larry and LaResha attend Handy's and on Larry Birthday. I pray that you all know that you are well loved and never forgotten. And you will always be in our prayer with love.

Mrs. Tease has been and will continued to be missed. She was a precious friend and neighbor. Her bright smile brought sunshine to each day. She was truly a living picture of grace and beauty.
