EAST ROCHESTER — Hazel M. Bryant, 80, of 33 Highland St., died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a period of failing health.

She was born Sept. 15, 1930, in Wakefield, N.H., the daughter of the late Otis and Hattie Perkins. She has resided in this area all of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in East Rochester. She enjoyed going to the Homemakers of Strafford County Day Out program. Her other hobbies included reading, walking, playing cards and making puzzles.

The widow of Leonard Bryant, she is survived by sons Wayne, Bill and Robert Bryant of Rochester, David and Clarence Bryant of Iowa; daughters, Beverly Shannon Middleton, Amelia Bryant, Rochester, Linda Place of Mississippi; 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles and Paul Perkins of Rochester and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit Monday 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., Rochester. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery, East Rochester, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Victims Inc., P.O. Box 455, Rochester NH 03866-0455 or Homemakers of Strafford County, Rochester Hill Road, Rochester NH 03867.

My life is a little bit brighter having known you Hazel. I am saddened for all of us you left behind, but comforted to imagine you walking hand in hand with your savior Jesus Christ, wearing a crown of many jewels having faithfully served your Lord through daily examples of love and servitude. To the Family, Hazel was a wonderful woman. She will be deeply missed. I still thought of her every day even when I had moved. Your thought and prayers will always be with me. I remember her bright smile when I enter her home, it always cheered me up when I was down it made me so happy. I loved your mom so much. She was so dear to me. She will be our angel in heaven now.
