Hazel Brown Childers

Services for Hazel Brown Childers, 98, of Piedmont will be Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 12 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Childers and the Rev. Michael Ingram officiating. Burial will follow at Littlejohn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10-12 at the funeral home. Mrs. Childers passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Cherokee Village Assisted Living. Survivors include three daughters, Sonya (Ken) Penny, Charlotte (Jerry) Adderhold, and Pat (Craig) Kent; two sons, Larry (Patsy) Childers, and Tim (Debbie) Childers; ten grandchildren, Phil (Abby) Penny, Greg (Donna) Penny, Myra (Bill) Florence, Victor (Tammy) Childers, Bruce (Susan) Adderhold, Pam (James) Jumper, Brenda Lynch, Michael Harrison, Amy (Sam) Griffith, and Clay (Candy) Childers; 17 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be family. Mrs. Childers was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont and was active in the senior adult choir and Sunday school class. She loved the outdoors and also loved flowers and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Clyde Childers, Jr.; a daughter, Linda Sue Childers; and her parents, Henry Brown and Mattie Bush.
