Hazel CLEVELY Obituary
Hazel (nee Burch):
On 23 March 2023 in Waikanae, aged 82 years, Hazel passed away surrounded by love. Much loved and loyal wife of Barry, and the best mum and mother-in-law in the world to Amanda and Davide Rutten, Sarah and Patrick Breen, and Penelope and the late Dave Bowman. Adored grandma of Jessica and Luke, Kieran, Lucy, Hamish, Daniel, and Zac. Treasured daughter and stepdaughter of Dorrie and Hugh Burch, and Stanley Dyason (Poppa). Cherished sister and sister-in law to the late Lynda and Frank Alpe, Barbara and Bill Aldridge, and sister of her late brother John Burch. Loved sister-in-law to Kaye and Bob Bell. Wonderful aunt and great-aunt, a second mum to many, and a true friend for life for those who knew her. A service to celebrate Hazel's remarkable journey through life will be held at Cedarwood at the Waikanae Funeral Home, 17 Parata St, Waikanae, on Saturday 1 April 2023 at 12.00pm, followed by burial at Awa Tapu Cemetery, Valley Road, Paraparaumu. Hazel loves flowers, so you are more than welcome to bring flowers to her burial. Donations to the Wellington Free Ambulance would be appreciated and may be made at www.wfa.org.nz. So sad re Hazel passing away. The Clevely family has meant so much to me, Faye and the Wyatt family. So many memories - their farm, tennis court and horses. A long association since 1970 and particularly as neighbours and development at Peka Peka from 1973 - Faye and my thoughts are so much with Barry and his family today. Love Warwick and Faye Wyatt

Dear Barry & Family,
We were so sad and shocked to here of Hazels passing. My memories of Hazel go so far back to the present. You were my first owners of my first stakes winner as a Trainer. When you are young some memories linger and I use to always look forward to seeing Hazel & Barry at the races or when they visited us. Hazel you were a special Lady that always left special memories . Thank you for this and thank you for been a special friend to our family.

Hazel will always be remembered by us as a kind and caring mentor for the local pony club children and their parents, who enabled those less financially well off to participate and enjoy life with the other children. A friendly and principled member of our community who will be kindly remembered.

Dear all, such a sad time for you. I know how much Hazel was loved by each and everyone of you and what an integral part of your family she was. We've been chatting about the many parties you held with Mum & Dad both present and what a friend indeed she was, especially to Mum. Sam recalls the rope swing, horse riding, playing tennis at yours and watching Batman on tele LOL No matter who was around, they were always warmly welcomed.
