ESTELLE R. PETERSON

Estelle Rowlett Peterson, 94, of Matoaca passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015. She was born February 3, 1921, in Blackstone, Va., to the late Adlia Stevenson Rowlett and Lucy Spencer Tolley Rowlett, and was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles L. "Buddy" Peterson Sr.; two sisters, Mavis Biron, Annie Floyd; and two brothers, Coleman and William Rowlett.

She is survived by her children, Charles Peterson, Jr. and wife, Jeanette of Stafford, Va., James Peterson and wife, Kathy of Dinwiddie, Gary Peterson and wife, Carolyn of Chester, Keith Peterson and wife, Heide of Chesterfield and Priscilla Mason of Chesterfield; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Steve Rowlett of Blackstone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Va., with Mr. Danny Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, December 21, 2015, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
