Hazel Elaine Winters, 71, of Saxonburg, formerly of Rostraver Township, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in Butler Memorial Hospital. Born in Sturgeon, Pa., on Sept. 2, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Frank and Esther (Johnson) Winters. Elaine was retired from Monongahela Valley Hospital as a medical transcriptionist. She was a former member of Lynnwood Lutheran Church, and was currently a member of St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saxonburg. Elaine loved the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. She loved animals and participated in dog shows and was also noted for her art work. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Karin Middleby and Anna Dorothea Cochran; and a brother, Ernest Frank Winters. Friends will be received in the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, on Sunday, May 30, from 1 to 3:30 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Keller officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday, June 1, in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald, Pa.
