Dear Al and family - we lost touch but I remember working together at Indian Affairs years ago. I also remember what close buddies you and Heather were - going off for lunch together like highschool sweethearts. My sincere sympathy for your tragic loss.

Al and family,
I lost touch with Heather a number of years ago, but I often fondly think of her. She was my first boss in Ottawa and recruited me from Edmonton, at a time I desperately wanted to return to be close to my family. It was the heady days of internal communications in government and she taught me patiently and with a thoroughness and dedication that I recall to this day. I admired her values and ethics and learned a lot as a future manager.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and I will continue to think of Heather and the role she played in my public service career.

Dear Al, Alison and Kevin
Heather has touched many hearts and has changed many lives for the better. I was one of them. I have loved Heather all my adult life. We shared a mutual bond of deep friendship. Heather will remain in my heart forever.

Dear Al, Alison and Kevin,
Brian and I wish to express our condolences to you at this very difficult time. I just could not beleieve the news. Karen told me. I have known Heather since she was a teenager and although we didn't communicate too frequently in the latter years I was glad to have a visit with you in Kelowna a few summers ago with Ian and Suanne.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers at this time.
Love,
Brenda and Brianl
